MICHAEL F. BARZYK earned his J.D.
from Cleveland Marshall College of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in
2000. He also completed his undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State
University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and
a minor in Sociology.
While at law school, Mr. Barzyk served as the Research Editor for the Journal of
Law and Health, and completed an externship with the Honorable Solomon Oliver,
Jr., United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, as well as
an internship at the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of
Illinois.
Prior to his work in the area of medical malpractice defense, general liability
and insurance defense, Mr. Barzyk was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade
County for almost five (5) years. While there, he litigated over forty (40) jury
trials to verdict. After leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Barzyk went
into private practice, and litigated medical malpractice and complex personal
injury cases. He is currently a member of the Florida Bar, the Broward County
Bar Association, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense
Research Institute.
Mr. Barzyk has earned a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of “BV”, the
highest such distinction for an attorney with his level of experience. This
rating reflects the confidential opinion of Mr. Barzyk’s colleagues among the
Bar and Judiciary, and attests to his legal ability and professional ethics.
