Diversity

McIntosh, Sawran, Peltz & Cartaya, P.A. has been committed to diversity in its recruitment, hiring and retention efforts since its inception in 1989. Throughout its history, the firm has embraced, as a matter of policy, equal employment opportunity without discrimination the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by the law. As a practical matter, the firm views diversity as providing access to the best human resources available in all possible categories. In addition, a diverse employee population is congruent with the desires and objectives of the firm’s clientele. Achieving a higher level of excellence and developing a deeper sense of professionalism occur only with an abiding commitment to the goals of diversity and inclusiveness.

The firm believes that its upper management should lead by example in this regard. We are pleased to report that such is the case, as females have assumed leadership roles throughout the firm. More than 50% of the firm’s Partners are women, and one of its four owners is a Hispanic-American female. Of the firm’s Directors, 2/3 are women who are also Hispanic-American. Almost half of all Attorneys are women with approximately one-fifth of all attorneys being Hispanic-American or African-American.

However, McIntosh, Sawran also believes diversity should permeate all levels within the firm. As to the overall employee population, over 70% are women. In addition, approximately 40% of the firm’s personnel fall into other minority categories, most notably, Hispanic and African-American. We firmly believe that diversity in all aspects is essential to accomplishing our goals.

The firm makes a concerted effort to develop and retain all its personnel, including those comprised of women and other minorities. This is consistent with the firm’s mission to attract and employ the best human resources possible, and to provide them with technological, and other, tools in order to deliver responsive, efficient, and cost-effective service of the highest order to its clients.

McIntosh, Sawran is committed to maintaining a culture that provides and supports diversity, not only throughout our firm, but also, within our profession.
